AP Govt, Ready To Issue, Telangana Separate State, Telangana Crisis, Andhra Pradesh

AP govt ready to hand over Telangana:

The Andhra Pradesh government appears to be testing the waters on the Telangana issue.

As students from the Telangana region went on a mass indefinite hunger strike from Monday onwards, the government has made its decision on the issue and is trying to buy more time before it could make an announcement.

Sources now confirm that the decision to hand over a separate Telangana has already been made by the government in consultation with the Union government.

Earlier, it was being said that they would keep Hyderabad as a common capital for five years. But now they have decided to maintain that position for ten years.

There is an ongoing consultation process with leaders from all parts of Andhra Pradesh on the issue.

While leaders from Andhra and Rayalseema appear to have agreed to this position, the leaders from Telangana continue to remain adamant about sharing a capital.

The government says that it has no choice, as any change in this position would be very unfair on the cosmopolitan population of Hyderabad.
But Telangana leaders say that this is being done only to facilitate the investors who fear that they may lose out if Hyderabad becomes an exclusive capital of Telangana.

WHY DO WE NEED SURVEYS?
Spending millions in designing, manufacturing and marketing doesn’t necessarily guarantee a star product. Hence, organizations worldwide prefer to cut their business risk by intelligently investing a fraction of their funds in market research and know what the consumers prefer.

WHAT IS A SURVEY?
A survey is one of the most commonly used tools in market research. Inferences are drawn and insights are gathered by questioning a set of people. The set of questions are objective and/or subjective in nature. The answers collectively form the guidelines for organizations to take the best possible business decisions.

WHY DO COMPANIES PAY FOR SURVEYS?
Surveys cut the risk of product failure to a large extent as it enables companies to understand the psyche of their customers. They provide companies with valuable customer information. This, in turn, helps them get an edge over the competition, and come up with successful products and services from time to time.

Major Train Accident, 53 Killed, 250 Injured, Kalka Mail, Malwan, Uttar Pradesh News

About 67 people were killed and at least 250 injured Sunday noon when 15 bogies of the Kalka Mail from Howrah jumped tracks this afternoon while travelling at full speed near Malwan station, 120km fromLucknow.

The accident, which took place as the Kalka Mail was nearing the Malwan railway station in Fatehpur district, toppled some of the coaches over two adjoining rail tracks, sealing off the busy route to Howrah from where the train was coming.

Meawhile, a second tragedy struck hundreds of miles away in the evening, when a blast derailed eight coaches of the Guwahati-Puri Express near Rangia, 50km from Guwahati, and injured about 70 passengers.
Several women and children were killed in the 12.20pm Kalka accident, where five AC coaches were among those derailed, and scores of people still lay trapped in two bogies late in the night. Most of the deaths are suspected to have been caused by suffocation in the coaches where the victims lay buried under luggage or fellow passengers.
The 24-bogie Kalka, Bengal's fourth-most important train after Rajdhani, Duronto and Poorva, had left with 1,331 passengers last evening. Its average speed is 63kmph but when the accident happened, it was travelling at 108kmph "which is full speed", North Central Railway general manager H.C. Joshi said.

ICC Rankings, ICC Top Players Rankings, ICC Players Rankings 2011, July 2011, International Cricket Council

England off-spinner Graeme Swann has become the number-one ranked bowler in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers for the first time in his career after the 32-year-old claimed series figures of 8-164 against Sri Lanka.
England claimed victory in the fifth and final ODI of the series and by virtue of winning the enthralling series 3-2 has pushed Sri Lanka from third to fourth in the Reliance ICC ODI Championship. Sri Lanka has slipped below South Africa by a fraction of a ratings point while England has maintained its position in fifth.
In the bowler rankings, Swann’s ascension to the number-one spot has meant New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori has finally been knocked off the top, a place the former Black Caps skipper had occupied since September 2009.
Swann’s team-mate James Anderson has also risen impressively up the rankings, gaining 17 places to 11th spot, while Sri Lanka’s Ajantha Mendis has dropped three places to 12th. Stuart Broad’s disappointing series with the ball has seen the 25-year-old slide eight places to 21st position.
A positive series for England’s Tim Bresnan, who claimed eight wickets, has seen the 26-year-old seamer jump nine places to 26th in the world.
