In a scathing attack on the Mayawati regime in Uttar Pradesh, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday said that UP was being run by “dalals” (brokers).
He was addressing a meeting at Kripalpur village in Aligarh districrt during his ongoing  “pad yatra” to highlight “forced acquisition” of the farmers’ land in the state, “You (farmers) are not united...the whole of Uttar Pradesh is divided...dalals are running the state,” Gandhi said. http://www.deccanherald.com/content/174324/up-run-dalals-says-rahul.html

Flying Car, Transition Flying Car, Flying Cars, Transition Flying Cars

"Terrafugia’s Transition is the first combined flying-driving vehicle to receive such special consideration from the Department of Transportation since the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards came into being in the 1970s," the Woburn, Massachusetts-based Terrafugia Inc. said in a statement.

In the exemption text, NHTSA states "We further conclude that the granting of an exemption from these requirements would be in the public interest and consistent with the objectives of traffic safety."

The U.S. Department of Transportation has granted a three-year hardship exemption that will allow the manufacturer to enter its planned 2012 production time frame. Previously, the company said deliveries of the Transition are scheduled to begin in late 2011.

But, the company, after the approval, said the flying car will start shipping in 2012 and will be priced at around $250,000. Terrafugia has about 100 orders for the Transition with a $10,000 reservation fee.

As expected, Facebook has announced Skype-powered video calling for its users, who now number more than 750 million according to the company. The new feature was unveiled by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Skype CEO Tony Bates at a news conference at Facebook HQ on Wednesday where Facebook engineer Philip Su provided a walkthrough of the application. The social networking giant also launched a new chat sidebar and what Su says is one of the site's most requested features in multi-person chat.

Facebook video calling won't require users to set up a Skype account but will require a one-time setup. This will be triggered the first time someone attempts to call you or you attempt to call someone by clicking the 'Call' button that now appears between the 'Message' and 'Poke' buttons on a friend's profile or at the top right of a chat window. Users can also leave a video message if the call recipient doesn't respond.

The site will be rolling out video calling in over 70 languages over the next few weeks, but if you don't want to wait you can install it now by heading here. The application runs on Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari, but isn't compatible with Linux and won't make its way to Facebook mobile apps.

India’s cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led the team to a World Cup win after 28 years, turned 30, Thursday.

Dhoni, who is currently leading the Test team in the West Indies, is having a great year, which started with a maiden Test series draw in South Africa as India retained the No.1 Test spot. India, however, lost the closely fought ODI series 2-3.

Dhoni, who hails from Ranchi in Jharkhand, then led the Indian team to their second World Cup win after 1983. The India captain surprised everybody by promoting himself up the order and hit a valuable unbeaten 91 off 79 balls in the final against the Sri Lanka.
