Sony Ericsson W8 Review

Sony Ericsson W8 – Looks And Design

Sony Ericsson W8 walkman looks very much similar to Xperia X8 and is carved entirely out of plastic. The curved edges of the phone make it comfortable to hold and with the dimensions of the phone measuring 99 x 54 x 15 mm, it slips easily into your pocket. The phone weighs 104 grams and hence it does not feel too heavy on your pocket.

Sony Ericsson W8 Display

The phone sports a 3 inches TFT capacitive touch screen display which displays pictures of resolution measuring 320 x 480 pixels. Images look crisp, sharp and what really impressed us is the sensitivity of the screen. It responded to the slightest of touches and offers good brightness.
The legibility of the screen suffers a great deal in sunlight and on a sunny day it is very difficult to read the screen. Below the screen you will find the 3 hardware keys, while on the right side of the display you will find the volume rocker and the camera button. The light and the proximity sensors are found above the display.

Sony Ericsson W8 Connectivity And Multimedia

Sony Ericsson W8 provides decent connectivity options with support for 2G and 3G network. Local connectivity is strengthened by the Bluetooth 2.1 with support for A2DP profile and Wi-Fi. One also gets a 3.5 mm audio jack. Though the browser is decent, yet it has certain disadvantages such as lack of flash support and multi-touch gestures.
The cell phone is equipped with an FM radio which has a pretty simple interface which automatically scans the available stations. The audio quality of the handset is really good and even without earphone plugged in, the audio quality of the phone is great.

Sony Ericsson W8 Gallery

The gallery of the phone automatically locates images and it sustains finger scrolling or panning. Pinch-zooming facility is not available and you can share photos via email, Facebook, Gmail, MMS and Bluetooth.

Sony Ericsson W8 Colors

The phone is available in three colors namely Azure, Orange and Red.
